Light & understated
Maple
Pale cream tones and a fine, often subtle grain give maple a clean, quiet presence. A light wood that lets the form speak.
Open & lively
Ash
Light tones and a clearly defined, open grain give ash a lively texture. Its sweeping grain brings movement to simple shapes.
Bold & graphic
Zebra Wood
Contrasting dark stripes against a lighter background give zebra wood its unmistakable appearance. A striking choice when the grain is part of the story.
Warm & lustrous
African Mahogany
Warm pinkish to reddish brown tones and often interlocked grain bring depth to African mahogany. Changing light can reveal a soft, ribbon-like shimmer.
Rich & dramatic
Rosewood
Deep brown and reddish tones, often with darker streaks, give rosewood a rich, dramatic presence. Colour and figure vary by species and by individual board.
Warm & textured
Red Oak
Warm tan tones with a pinkish cast and a bold, open grain give red oak a familiar, expressive character.
Quiet & substantial
White Oak
Beige to golden brown tones and a defined grain give white oak a grounded presence. Cut and orientation can reveal distinctive ray flecks.
